Electronic Reserves FAQ

The purpose of the Law Library Electronic Reserves is to make the reserve materials more readily accessible to the students. The Electronic Reserves are available from any computer connected to the Internet and must have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 or newer installed. Materials that are less than 50 pages in length are available only through Electronic Reserves. Books, longer articles, and video or audio tapes are still kept in the Reserve Room.

Accessing E-Reserves

1. Go to the Law School Home page. http://www.law.lsu.edu

2. Click on the “Library” tab at the top of the page.

3. Select “Class Reserves” in the "Course Support" box.

4. Type in the name of the instructor then click the box marked “Instructor.”

5. Select desired instructor and course from the list displayed. If the instructor is teaching only one course, selecting the instructor will take you directly to the list of reserve items available.

6. Select “Full Details” for the item you wish to view.

7. Click “Click Here for E-Reserves.”

8. A new window will open and you will be prompted for a password. The password is “llaweres”.

9. To print the file make sure that you use the print function of the Adobe Acrobat reader instead of the print function of your Internet browser. Clicking on the printer icon of the Acrobat reader will bring up a dialog box. Make sure the box marked “Shrink oversized page to paper size” is selected.

10. To return to the main E-Reserves listing use your original browser window’s “Back” button.
