What is LALINC?
- LALINC is the Louisiana Academic Library Information Network Consortium.
- LALINC offers a way for students, faculty and staff of Louisiana colleges and universities to borrow materials from academic libraries other than their own.
- If you are a currently enrolled student, or an active faculty or staff member of a Louisiana college or university, and you are in good standing with your library, you may go to your library circulation desk and request a LALINC borrowing card.
- You may then present your LALINC card at another Louisiana academic library and request borrowing privileges. However, policies differ from library to library, and the lending library has the option to honor the LALINC card based upon the status (undergraduate, graduate, faculty or staff) of the cardholder.
- Blank LALINC cards are in the upper right hand drawer of the Ref. Desk. Notify Kevin Baggett if you pass out a card.
LALINC Users (Non-LSU Law)
- Create New User in Workflows (Circ Module - New User Registration Wizard)
- Select Guest Profile (28 day circulation)
- Enter ID and Address Information (include email)
- Add user Cat 1: LALINC under demographic (may need to go to MODIFY USER to change)
- Add Institution to Extended Info Note
