Transfering Calls from the Reference Desk

 

 

After answering the call, press "transfer" and then the extension of the staff member you are transfering the call to (8-XXXX). The library staff member will answer. Indicate to them that they have a call and press "transfer" again. You can then hang up the phone.

 

Answering the Circulation Desk phone from the Reference Desk (also answering the Reference Desk phone from the Circulation Desk)

 

 

When the circ desk phone is ringing, press "*7" and this should answer the phone. You can also answer the ref desk phone from circ by using the same means.

Greeting 2: Closed

Hello, you have reached the LSU Law Library Reference Desk. The Reference Desk is now closed. Please call during the times that the Desk is regularly staffed, 8 AM to 8 PM Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday. Thank you.

1. Dial voicemail: 8-5600

2. Enter extension: 8-4042#

3. Enter password: 4042#

4. Press "3" to Administer Personal Greetings

5. Press "3" to Activate Greeting

6. Enter greeting number 1 or 2

7. Hang up

 

To SHUT OFF automatic answer (goes to Rita's message with no ring)

 

 

1. Pick up phone

2. Push #88

3. Hang up

 

To ACTIVATE auto answer

 

 

Push *8

 

 

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the phone is not accepting calls either Call Forwarding or Auto Answer may be active.  To deactivate, pick up the handset and dial #22 and/or #88.
